Kerala, Gods Own Country is a well known tourist destination and is famous for its ecotourism
initiatives. Kerala is famous for its beaches, backwaters, hill stations and wildlife
sanctuaries. One more thing that sets Kerala apart from other tourist destinations is Ayurveda,
the 5000 year old Science of Healing. Kerala is believed to be the pioneers in preserving
authentic Ayurveda and innovators of many Ayurvedic procedures and medicines.
Ayurveda is oldest healthcare system in the world that talks not just about physical wellness
but focuses on holistic wellness of an individual. It involves the use of oils and herbs that
have medicinal qualities, therapies such as massages, diet control and exercises and
rejuvenation through beauty and body care therapies. Because of this naturalistic mode of
treatment and because of involvement of NO SIDE EFFECTS, Ayurveda has got national as well as
international acceptance.
We, at Amrita Ayurvedic Medical Center, primarily focus on detoxification or elimination of
toxic elements from the body. This methodical process of detoxification or Panchakarma.
Panchakarma treatment removes the poisonous elements from the body thus curing the illness and
preventing its recurrence. According to Ayurvedic texts, our body comprises of three types of
humors- Vatha, Pittha, Kapha. All diseases are caused by an imbalance of these three doshas.
Hence we aim at establishing equilibrium between the three doshas present in the body.
We also provide a number of therapies and treatment procedures such as Njavarkizhi, Kizhi,
Pizhichil, Uzhichil, ELakizhi, Dhara and many more. These are found to be very effective in the
treatment of a wide range of diseases ranging from the simpler hairloss to the more serious ones
like diabetes, hypertension, cardiac problems etc. Moerover the specialized way of massaging
employed at our health center proves to be relaxing and rejuvenating to the mind and body.
Certain asanas or postures, Yoga and exercises practiced at our center has proved beneficial in
treating diseases like hypertension, high lipid content in blood, diabetes and so on.
Kerala, with its lush greenery and cool monsoons make it ideal for Ayurvedic treatments. The
monsoons are the right time to start with Ayurveda treatment as the environment is moist and
cool that makes the body more receptive to herbal oils and medication. Almost all the medicinal
herbs used in Ayurveda are found in the lush greenery of Kerala.
For the people of Kerala, Ayurveda is not just a healthcare system it is part of our day to day
life. Ashtangahridyam, the user friendly interpretation of Ayurveda texts is widely practiced in
most homes in Kerala. Kerala has the largest number of Ayurveda colleges and practitioners who
have been capable of effectively treating various diseases permanently.
