The areas that are commonly affected by dry skin are arms, hands and particularly lower legs.
Symptoms of dry skin include discomfort from skin tightness, rough dry skin, red plaques, and itching. Usually, the Dry skin may be an entirely invisible skin condition or may cause a fine powder like the appearance of the skin. If untreated it results in a red rash.

There is no any particular cause for dry skin. However, the factors causing it may be internal or external. External factors include cold temperatures and low humidity, over–washing with harsh soaps, overuse of sanitizers and cleaning agents. Internal factors include overall health, age, genetics, physical and mental stress, family history and personal history of other medical conditions.
